The North East has a sharper split than most regions and it changes what useful AI training looks like. There is serious manufacturing on Wearside and the Tyne, and process, chemical and energy work across Teesside, where documentation is a safety matter rather than an administrative one. There is a real digital and software cluster in Newcastle and Gateshead. And there is a large, growing public-sector employer base around Durham and Darlington, which brings its own rules about what you are allowed to do with data.
Those three worlds need the same skills taught in different registers, and we do not pretend otherwise. A process engineer on Teesside and a marketing manager in Newcastle both benefit enormously from AI, but not from the same worked example. We ask what your team actually produces, then build the session on that: shift handovers and permit paperwork, or campaign copy and client reporting, or committee papers and freedom-of-information responses.
Your people learn ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini hands-on, in plain English, with no coding and no assumed background. The parts that matter most in this region tend to be the unglamorous ones: summarising long technical documents without losing the bit that matters, and drafting the same information for three different audiences without rewriting it three times.
Safety is covered in every session, and it is not a footnote. For regulated and public-sector teams here, the rules about personal and commercially sensitive data are not advisory. One room, one set of rules, everybody hearing the same caveats. In regulated environments the worst outcome is not slow adoption, it is six people quietly inventing six different personal policies about what they paste where.
One is the skill of using it well. The other is the discipline of using it safely. We teach both, because the risk lives in the gap between them.

Process and energy sites generate enormous documents that a small number of people must read carefully and a larger number need the gist of. Done well, AI summarising is the highest-value skill we teach here. Done carelessly, it drops the one clause that mattered. We teach the version that includes verification, because in this setting that is the whole job.
Manufacturing sites on Wearside and Tyneside lose real time to writing up the same events for different audiences. Teams learn to go from rough notes to a clean handover, an escalation email and a management summary in one pass, with a human reading it before it goes anywhere.
The growth in civil service and public-body employment across the region has brought a lot of people into roles that are mostly structured writing under scrutiny. AI helps enormously with first drafts of briefings, consultation responses and committee papers, provided the rules about what goes into which tool are explicit. We set those out, then help you write them down.
