Basic AI skills
Start with the tools
Learn the everyday uses of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot, with prompts built around emails, research, documents and admin.
Explore Basic AI Training →The East of England has the highest concentration of research and technology talent outside London, and a lot of businesses running clever work on stubbornly manual admin. AI closes that gap fast. We show your team how.
The East of England contains one of the densest research and technology clusters in Europe and a great deal of very traditional business, often within twenty miles of each other. Cambridge has its technology and life sciences base. Norwich has insurance and a serious agri-food economy. Ipswich has a long telecoms research heritage. Peterborough runs on logistics and manufacturing. The Fens and rural Norfolk and Suffolk are farming country, and Felixstowe moves a large share of the country's container freight.
That produces an unusual training challenge which we rather enjoy. In Cambridge the room often contains people who understand the underlying technology better than most and have still never been shown how to use it well on their own admin, grant applications or investor updates. Twenty miles away we are working with a farming business or an insurance broker who wants none of the theory and all of the time saving. Both sessions are hands-on, and neither is the same deck.
Your team learns ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini on the work they actually do, in plain English, with no coding required. For research-led organisations we spend real time on the difference between a tool that drafts and a tool that can be cited, because in that setting the distinction matters enormously and is frequently misunderstood.
Safe use is covered in every session: personal data under UK GDPR for the insurance and professional firms, and confidential research or commercial information for the technology and life sciences businesses. The one-day AI Policy Workshop takes that further and leaves you with your own written AI acceptable use policy before the day is out.
You can watch a recorded course any day of the week and most of your team never will. Put a trainer in the room and something changes. Questions get asked. Real tasks get solved. The whole team leaves on the same page.
Cambridge is a straight run across from Oxfordshire and the rest of the region follows easily. In-person delivery across Cambridge, Norwich, Ipswich, Peterborough, Chelmsford and Colchester, and out to Luton, Bedford, Watford, St Albans and Great Yarmouth. Travel is included in the price.
Grant applications and investor updates, policy documents and claims correspondence, or farm records and supplier paperwork. We use what your team actually produces, which is also the fastest way to find out where AI will not help.
One room, one agreed set of rules. In research organisations especially, it stops the situation where half the team is being cautious and the other half is quietly pasting confidential material into a consumer tool.
One is the skill of using it well. The other is the discipline of using it safely. We teach both, because the risk lives in the gap between them.
Applications, reports, correspondence, research summarising and admin, all compressed hard. Hands-on, on your own documents, so the skill is usable immediately.
Confidential research and commercial information on one side, UK GDPR obligations on the other. Clear rules for both, written up in the AI Policy Workshop.
Three things this region asks us for repeatedly, and what changes once a team is trained.
Research-led and early-stage businesses spend a punishing amount of senior time on structured writing to a fixed format: funding applications, progress reports, investor updates. AI is extremely good at the structural work and useless at knowing what is actually true about your programme, so we teach a workflow where it drafts and your experts assert. Teams routinely get half a day back per application.
Insurance and broking work is high-volume structured writing under regulatory obligation, which is nearly the perfect AI training case: obvious time saving, obvious need for rules. We cover the drafting workflow, the personal-data boundary under UK GDPR, and the human check that has to sit before anything reaches a customer.
Farming businesses across the Fens, Norfolk and Suffolk are quietly buried in paperwork: assurance scheme records, subsidy and grant submissions, supplier specifications and compliance documentation. It is repetitive, deadline-driven and mostly writing, and it is one of the more satisfying things to fix. Our AI for farmers page covers how those sessions run.
Every one can be delivered in person at your East of England office, or live online. Prices exclude VAT.
