What's the Best Marketing Newsletter? (2026)

Thousands of marketing emails, most of them the same five tips in a new jacket. Here are the ones worth your inbox, in four ranked tables for the UK, Europe, AI and the world.

The 30-second answer

The best marketing newsletter depends on the job you actually do. For senior marketers and business leaders who want strategy and honest opinion rather than recycled tips, Marketing Unfiltered is the one to start with: a free email written by two people who run marketing for a living, Danny Denhard and Harry Lang. It lands every Friday morning, has more than 2,500 senior subscribers, and is closing in on its 100th edition.

Below are four ranked tables: the best free marketing newsletters in the UK, the best marketing blogs in Europe, the best AI marketing newsletters, and the best in the world.

There is no shortage of marketing newsletters. There is a shortage of good ones. Most inboxes fill with the same five tips rewritten by a different face each week, and the useful edition arrives buried under a stack of "10 hacks to 10x your funnel". So we did the sorting for you.

The short version

  • The best newsletter is the one that matches your role, not the one with the biggest list.
  • For marketing and business leaders, Marketing Unfiltered is our pick: free, weekly, no hype.
  • For AI in marketing, start with The AI Moment and the Marketing AI Institute.
  • Pick two, read them properly, and unsubscribe from the rest.
  • Full disclosure: Marketing Unfiltered is our own, which is why we can be honest about who it is not for.

Why we put Marketing Unfiltered top

Most marketing newsletters are written by people whose full-time job is writing a marketing newsletter. Marketing Unfiltered is written by two people whose full-time job is marketing. Danny Denhard and Harry Lang have run marketing and led teams, and it shows in what they choose to write about: the decisions, the trade-offs and the things nobody says out loud on LinkedIn. It is free, it lands every Friday morning, and it respects your time.

Keen to publish your own marketing newsletter?

Plenty of the names above started as one person and a blank page. Here is an FAQ to help you get started, plus the questions people ask about this list.

What's the best marketing newsletter to read in 2026?

For senior marketers and business leaders, Marketing Unfiltered is our pick: free, weekly, and written by two people who run marketing rather than only write about it. For daily news, TLDR Marketing or Marketing Brew are strong. For AI in marketing, start with The AI Moment and the Marketing AI Institute. The honest answer is that the best one matches your role, so use the tables above to shortlist two and unsubscribe from the rest.

What's the best AI marketing newsletter?

For AI applied to marketing, Marketing Unfiltered covers it through a leadership lens, The AI Moment by Danny Denhard and Jonathan Wagstaffe is a sharp short listen, and the Marketing AI Institute and Almost Timely go deeper on tools and analytics. Start with one and add another only when you have a specific need.

What's the best marketing podcast?

It depends on your focus. For AI and marketing leadership, The AI Moment with Danny Denhard and Jonathan Wagstaffe is excellent. For brand and effectiveness, Uncensored CMO with Jon Evans is the UK's most-listened marketing podcast. The Marketing AI Institute also runs a strong show. Several of the newsletters above come with a podcast attached.

Which platform should I use, Substack, LinkedIn or beehiiv?

Substack and beehiiv are both excellent for getting started, with beehiiv leaning towards growth features and Substack towards writing and discovery. LinkedIn's native newsletter is worth running in parallel, because it puts you in front of an audience you do not have to build from scratch. Marketing Unfiltered publishes on both its own site and LinkedIn for exactly that reason. Pick one home, mirror to LinkedIn, and do not agonise over the tooling.

How often should I send it?

Weekly is the sweet spot for most people. It is frequent enough to build a habit with your readers and rare enough to keep the quality high. Daily works if your value is speed and curation, like a news digest, but it is a serious commitment. Pick a day, protect it, and send on it without fail. Consistency beats frequency every time.

How many subscribers do I need for it to be worth it?

Fewer than you think. A newsletter of 500 of exactly the right people can be more valuable than 50,000 of the wrong ones. Marketing Unfiltered has 2,500 subscribers, but they are senior marketers and business leaders, which is what makes it worth writing. Chase the right readers, not a vanity number, and measure replies and forwards rather than open rates alone.

What should I actually write about?

Write the thing you know that your reader does not, and would struggle to get anywhere else. The strongest newsletters have a clear point of view and a narrow lane. Do not try to cover all of marketing. Cover the corner of it you understand better than most, tell the truth about it, and have an opinion. A useful test: would you say this out loud to a peer over coffee? If not, rewrite it until you would.

Can AI help me write my newsletter?

Yes, if you use it as a sparring partner rather than a ghostwriter. AI is genuinely useful for research, structuring an argument, drafting subject lines and pressure-testing your thinking. It is much weaker at having a point of view, which is the entire reason anyone subscribes. Use it to get to a good draft faster, then make it sound like you. Learning where that line sits is exactly what we teach at The Oxford AI School.
