AI for Family Offices.

A private, half-day, hands-on programme for single-family and multi-family offices. AI won't replace the trust, discretion and judgement a family relies on, but it will draft the investment memos, digest the fund documents, write the family reports and clear the admin — so a lean team can give principals faster, clearer answers without ever putting confidential family data at risk.

AI training for family offices

Family offices run on small teams carrying a very large load: investment research, consolidated reporting, governance papers, tax and legal coordination, philanthropy, property and the day-to-day running of a family's affairs. AI can take hours of drafting and synthesis off that load each week. This session is built around the real work of UK family offices, with confidentiality, data security and human judgement at the centre of everything we teach.

How family offices use AI day to day

The value of a family office sits in judgement, discretion and long relationships: knowing what the family actually wants, weighing an opportunity against decades-long goals, and keeping several generations aligned. None of that is going anywhere. What AI takes off a family office team is the reading, drafting and summarising that surrounds those decisions, the work that usually happens late in the evening before an investment committee or a family meeting.

That is where the time goes. A 120-page fund document reduced to a two-page summary with the questions worth asking. A first-draft investment memo built from your own notes. Quarterly portfolio commentary that reads like a person wrote it for this family. Minutes and action logs produced the same afternoon. A plain-English briefing on a new tax rule or market event, ready before a principal asks.

Where the hours come back

Investment teams

Faster research and manager due diligence, consistent memo structures across every opportunity, and more time spent on the judgement calls rather than the first draft.

Finance, operations and administration

Clearer reporting, quicker correspondence with banks, advisers and suppliers, better minutes, and policies and procedures that no longer wait for a spare week.

Principals and next-generation family members

Clearer explanations of complex structures and holdings, sharper questions to put to advisers, and a shared, practical understanding of what AI can and cannot safely do for the family.

Confidentiality comes first, without exception

Family offices hold information that most organisations never see in one place: total wealth, holdings, succession plans, trust structures, health and family matters, travel and personal security details. That makes the tooling question non-negotiable, and simpler than many people fear. Identifiable family information does not go into consumer-grade AI accounts. If AI is going to touch confidential material, it belongs in an enterprise-grade environment your office has approved, where you know whether inputs are used for training, where data is stored, how long it is kept and who can see it.

A great deal of the value needs no family data at all: research on public companies and markets, templates and policies, explanations of concepts, and drafting from properly anonymised notes. We spend real time in the session on anonymising well, which is harder than removing a name, and on where the line sits for your office, so the team is neither reckless nor paralysed.

The new fraud risk family offices are targeted with

AI has made impersonation cheap. Cloned voices of principals, convincing fake emails from a trusted adviser and urgent payment requests are now a real risk for wealthy families and the small teams that serve them. We cover the warning signs and the simple verification habits, such as call-back procedures and agreed code words, that stop most attempts.

Judgement stays with people

AI can inform an investment or family decision, but a person must make it. Models can state wrong figures with total confidence, so every number in a memo or report needs checking against the source before it reaches a principal or a committee. This page is general information about training, not investment, tax, regulatory or legal advice.

What actually changes in the first fortnight

The family offices that get real value from AI do the same three things. They choose the recurring task that eats the most time, usually fund document reviews, family reporting or minutes, and get that reliably good before adding anything else. They save the prompts that worked somewhere the whole team can reach. And they write down which tools are approved and what data may go into each, so nobody improvises with confidential material.

We work on your own templates, report formats and anonymised examples rather than a generic case study, so what you leave with is a set of habits and a folder of prompts built around your real week. If you are still weighing things up, our guides on how to keep information safe using AI tools, how to write an AI policy and the best AI tool for analysing documents are a good place to start, and our AI for IFAs programme covers the regulated advice side of private wealth.

AI for family offices — frequently asked questions

What can a family office actually use AI for?

Mostly the writing and synthesis that fills the week: first drafts of investment memos and manager due diligence summaries, digesting long fund documents and market research, turning portfolio data into readable commentary for principals, drafting investment committee and family council papers, and producing clear minutes and action logs. The judgement on what to invest in, and how the family is advised, stays with your team.

Is it safe to use AI with confidential family information?

Not in consumer-grade accounts. Family offices hold some of the most sensitive information there is: net worth, holdings, succession plans, trust structures, family dynamics and personal security details. Identifiable family data should only go into an enterprise-grade environment your office has approved, with known terms on training, retention, data residency and access. A great deal of the value, such as research, templates and drafting from anonymised notes, needs no family data at all.

Can AI help with investment research and due diligence?

Yes. AI is strong at summarising offering memoranda, fund documents, annual reports and market research, extracting the questions worth asking a manager, and drafting a structured first-pass memo. It is not a source of truth: every figure and claim needs checking against the original document, and the investment decision remains with your team and committee.

Will AI replace family office staff?

No. A family office is built on trust, discretion and long relationships across generations, and none of that is delegated to a model. What AI does is shrink the time spent on drafting, reporting and admin, so a small team can give principals faster, clearer answers and spend more time on the decisions that matter.

Do you train single-family and multi-family offices?

Yes. The session works for single-family offices, multi-family offices and the private wealth and trust teams that support them. We tailor the examples to your structure, whether you are a lean team of three supporting one family or a larger office serving several, and we can include principals or next-generation family members if that is useful.

How much does the AI for Family Offices session cost?

The half-day session for up to 8 people is £2,299 +VAT, delivered live online or in person at your office, with discreet, private delivery as standard. Takeaway materials and 30 days of follow-up support are included. Sessions run across Oxfordshire, London and the UK, and internationally online.
