Best AI Course in London

London has more AI courses than it has decent sandwiches under a fiver, and most of the comparison pages you will find are written by someone selling one of them. So is this one, so I will declare it up front and give you the real numbers anyway. Here is every serious option, what it costs, how long it takes and who it actually suits.

What is the best AI course in London?

The best AI course in London is the one matched to your role and budget. Executives who need AI strategy should look at London Business School or Imperial. Beginners should start with the free AI Skills Hub or a City Lit short course. Teams who need practical skills should book hands-on training built around their own work.

That sounds like a dodge. It isn't. A five-day programme in Regent's Park and a 90-minute session on your team's actual inbox are both called "AI courses", and they solve completely different problems. Buying the wrong one is like buying a Ferrari and only using it to drive to Lidl. Lovely car. Wrong errand.

The business school route: LBS and Imperial

If the question is "how should my organisation think about AI?", London's business schools are world class and priced accordingly.

London Business School

LBS is ranked number one in the world for open executive education in the Financial Times 2026 rankings, and that brand is a large part of what you are buying. Its flagship in-person option, Analytics and AI: From Data Insights to Strategic Impact, costs £9,500 and is aimed at executives with ten or more years of experience. The fee includes meals and, rather nicely, the gym and swimming pool. Accommodation is extra.

LBS also runs online AI courses of six to eight weeks, such as Business Analytics with Generative AI at £2,450, and offers alumni a 25% discount. Choose LBS for strategy, frameworks, case studies and a network of senior peers. Don't choose it expecting to leave able to build a Claude Project on Monday morning. That's not what it's for.

Imperial Business School

Imperial's Transforming Business with AI is a five-day, in-person programme at South Kensington for £6,950, with upcoming dates on 5 to 9 October 2026 and 16 to 20 November 2026. It mixes faculty sessions with workshops and simulations, and suits senior people who need to build an AI business case and sell it internally. It is £2,550 cheaper than the LBS equivalent, which will buy a lot of Hobnobs.

The LSE route: a London name, delivered online

The London School of Economics offers some of the best-value university AI courses in the city, with one catch worth knowing: they are online. The AI Advantage: A Competitive Strategy is a three-week masterclass at £650, around five hours a week, with no technical background required. The AI-Ready Organisation runs for six weeks at £2,420 and focuses on deploying and governing AI at scale.

If you want an LSE badge and strategic thinking for under a thousand pounds, this is the smartest buy on the list. If you wanted to sit in a room in Holborn, it isn't.

The beginner route: City Lit, General Assembly and the free hub

If you have never typed a prompt, don't start with a £9,500 programme. Start here.

City Lit, Holborn

City Lit is an adult education college on Keeley Street that has been teaching Londoners since 1919. Its Generative AI: a short introduction is built for non-technical beginners, runs on many dates through the year and costs £149 at full fee, with concession rates. It also runs evening courses such as Prompt Engineering for Non-Coders and AI for the Workplace. Good, affordable and properly in person.

General Assembly

General Assembly has a campus on Whitechapel High Street and runs free one-hour AI classes. Be clear about what you are getting: the Generative AI Basics class is a Zoom webinar with no hands-on element, so it's a demonstration rather than a lesson. Its paid AI Workplace Fundamentals course goes further. Fine for a taster.

The government's AI Skills Hub

The cheapest option in London is also available everywhere else. The AI Skills Hub is free to every UK adult, with short courses from Google, Microsoft, Amazon and others, and an AI Foundations badge for your CV. The practical team route: training at your London office

Here is the gap none of the above fill. An executive programme teaches strategy. A free course teaches the buttons. Neither sits next to your account manager while she turns the Tuesday client report from a two-hour job into a twenty-minute one. That is the bit that changes how a business works, and it has to be taught on your own work.

The real cost per hour of learning

Headline fees hide how much teaching you actually get. Dividing each published price by its typical contact hours gives a fairer comparison:-

It also leaves out what the business schools include that nobody else does: meals, case studies and a room full of senior peers. If the network is the point, the hourly rate is not. If the point is getting your team faster at their jobs, it matters a great deal.

How much does an AI course in London cost?

Notice the team workshop row. Because it is priced per session rather than per head, eight people cost less than one seat on an executive programme. Per person, a half-day deep dive in your office works out at about £200.

How do I choose the right AI course in London?

Whichever you pick, ask five questions before you pay:-

1. Will I use the real tools in the first hour? If the course opens with the history of neural networks, it is a lecture.
2. Is it built around my work or a generic demo? Skills only transfer when they are practised on your own tasks.
3. How many people are in the room? Above about ten, the trainer stops using your work as the example.
4. What do I take away? A prompt kit and a method you keep, or just a certificate?
5. Does it cover where AI gets things wrong? Including what data must never go into a public tool under UK GDPR.

A certificate on the wall is nice. A Tuesday morning that takes two hours instead of four is better.
