The quick answer

The Oxford AI School is rated 5 out of 5 on Trustpilot, with every published review scoring the maximum five stars.

The school teaches practical, jargon-free AI skills to individuals, small businesses and teams across Oxfordshire and the UK, with one-to-one lessons from £199 and half-day in-person team workshops up to £1,599.

The Oxford AI School opened its virtual doors on Wednesday 8th July, offering practical and easy AI lessons for individuals, small business owners and teams in Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas who feel they’re at risk of being left behind by the boom in AI use by their competitors. With in-person and virtual programmes starting from £199 for a one-to-one lesson up to £1,599 for a half day, in-person workshop for up to 8 team members, the school’s founding principle is simple:

Everyone can become more productive at work using AI, delivering more high quality work in less time every day.

A tipping point for British business

The launch arrives at a tipping point for British business. Goldman Sachs estimates that generative AI could automate the equivalent of 300 million full-time jobs globally, while the Microsoft Work Trend Index found that 75% of UK knowledge workers are already using AI at work, often without their employer’s knowledge or training. Meanwhile, the government’s AI Skills Boost programme allocates just 20% of its circa £1.1bn budget to SMEs, despite them employing 50% of the UK private-sector workforce. The Oxford AI School is aiming to fill that gap.

The British Chambers of Commerce reports that fewer than one in three small businesses have any formal AI strategy, despite McKinsey research suggesting properly trained SME employees can recover between 10 and 15 hours of productive time every week through basic AI tools and skills adoption.

The gap between businesses using AI well and those still talking about it is widening every day, and it’s the country’s small and medium-sized employers who are most at risk.

Founded to translate AI for the people most likely to be shut out

The Oxford AI School was founded by Harry Lang, a marketing veteran and former Chief Marketing Officer at a leading agentic blockchain. Having spent over two decades helping global brands explain complex ideas simply, Lang started the school to translate AI for the local professionals he believes are most likely to be shut out: the farmer, the family solicitor, the owner of a small business, the independent financial advisor, the publican, or a marketing team, all of whom are trying to do more with less in the current economic climate.

There’s a quiet panic happening in UK businesses right now. Experienced company owners and leaders are watching competitors jump ahead using AI, and they’re scared to admit they don’t know how to catch up. We launched The Oxford AI School to help Oxfordshire professionals and business owners accelerate their own AI learning journey in a fun, pragmatic and cost effective way.

What the school teaches

The school’s curriculum is built around the five AI tools Oxfordshire and UK SMEs will find most useful (and accessible) to aid productivity and effectiveness in 2026: Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity. Sessions can be delivered virtually for remote teams, or in-person across Oxfordshire, London, the South East and the Midlands.

‘Custom Training’ is available for larger organisations and professional services firms alongside an ‘AI for Marketing Teams’ module which combines skills training with AI-enabled strategic consultancy.

The programme modules include custom courses for specific sector ICPs including SMEs, Law Firms, Accountants, IFAs, Estate Agents, Farmers, and Pubs & Restaurants. The school has recently launched a new Workshop module to help businesses across the UK write their own AI Policy to protect the business and teams: the AI Policy Workshop.

Plus there’s a new ‘Introduction To GEO’ module designed to help brands get found through LLM search, currently taking up 33%+ of all UK searches and growing every week.

The Oxford AI School training is a ready-to-go solution that local businesses can fund using their TechLocal seed grants and it can help them claim from the government’s £200m AI Skills & Adoption Scheme. Founders and business leaders can take a free AI Skills Assessment Test to measure where they and their business indexes in AI adoption.

The Oxford AI School is now taking bookings for team workshops and individual lessons. Business owners and team leaders can book a free introductory call at Learn@TheOxfordAISchool.com or by sending a request via the website or social media channels.

What people said after training

Every review below is a verified, five-star Trustpilot rating from someone who has trained with The Oxford AI School.

Fantastic Intro to AI with Harry

The content was clear, practical and pitched at exactly the right level, whilst focusing on how AI can be used in everyday work scenarios rather than just talking about the technology itself. Harry is knowledgeable, engaging and very down to earth.

One of the best courses in 30 years of corporate life

First class, very straightforward and explained in a easy to understand fashion. I’ve done tonnes of courses before but can honestly say this is one of the best one’s in 30 years of corporate life. A must for anyone looking to move their business forward.

Great AI start for any team!

Harry’s knowledge in this field is excellent and the session was well paced. Highly recommended for any commercial teams wishing to harness the power of AI and move forward with it, without bamboozling with technical jargon and corporate sound bites.

A perfectly pitched AI education for early stagers

This is pitched perfectly. Flexes from being a straight forward ‘dummies guide’ approach for pure novices, to speaking to an audience who have a decent grounding in the use of AI but want to feel reassured in their approach. Thanks Harry!

Makes the complex simple, and never makes you feel stupid

Harry always finds a way to make the complex simple and cut to the heart of the matter. I love how reassuring he is as well — although he’s so adept at using tools himself, he manages to never make you feel stupid!
